Neuter-Scooter for a Nickel Returns for Spay Day USA
Houston and San Antonio, Texas

Visit our website for more information.Do you have a male cat that needs to be neutered? The Spay-Neuter Assistance Program, Inc., is offering you a chance to get it done for cheap this month at our annual "Neuter Scooter for a Nickel" event. SNAP is making it possible for cat guardians to get their male cats fixed for life for just FIVE CENTS at this event. There are no qualification requirements. The event is open to the public, but you must make an appointment. No walk-in clients will be accepted.

SNAP hosts this event every year in observation of Spay Day USA as part of an aggressive effort to curb animal overpopulation. This is the 13th year SNAP has organized the local event. The event will take place on Tuesday, February 27, 2007, at a number of locations across the Houston and San Antonio areas. Houston locations include the SNAP Spay-Neuter Clinic at 1603 Shepherd and the SNAP Houston mobile clinic which will be parked at the Harris County PHES Veterinary Public Health facility. San Antonio locations include the San Antonio mobile clinic which will be parked at the Humane Society SPCA of Bexar County.

The Spay-Neuter Assistance Program, along with hundreds of animal welfare groups across the country, is providing low-cost events to promote spaying and neutering in an effort to decrease the cat overpopulation problem in Houston and surrounding areas. SNAP is asking all cat guardians to spay/neuter their animals.

Spaying and neutering results in the prevention of countless unwanted births. Neutering also reduces a cat's chances of developing testicular cancer, diminishes roaming tendencies, and decreases the urge to mark territory by spraying. If left intact, a male cat's ability to sire offspring is limited by little more than his lifespan.

Neuter Scooter is strictly for MALE CATS (domesticated or feral). Again, an appointment is required. Appointments for Houston locations can be made by sending email to or by calling 713-863-0010. Appointments for San Antonio locations can be made by calling 210-673-7722. Additional information is available on the SNAP Event Calendar.
